I'm feeling so out and down these few days, I feel nothing is worth it. I dont know whether its because I'm leaving this sunny red dot on leap year (which is in fact in 3 days time) or its the little ups and downs that affected me badly these few days. Regardless of what is the main cause of my sadness, it seems like I can't use a little hope at all right now. Its that feeling like nothing is gonna be okay and there's no one there to help make sure of that. I'm not talking about my lovely family or my studies or work but I'm just confessing on my raw blue emotions... Oh all these anger, hurt and pain, they really do steal my energy and keep me from love. It's like sawdust, the unhappiness; it infiltrated everything and everything is a problem but its so hard to say exactly what the problem is in the first place. How do we bounce back when reality batters our belief system, and love does not, as promised, conquer all? Some broken things stay broken, just like scar tissues with no character. All it does is to shield, disguise and grow. How do I find the strength from without to allow myself to hurt a little less and heal a little more? How do I let go of all that negative energy so that I'm able to breathe a little easier, a little more? Bitterness is so easy that is why we feed ourselves to starve the pain.

I know this is sooooo backdated but I have waaay too many pictures and I procrastinate at times to upload. Anyways this was taken on the last day of 2011, we had an amazing Shabu-Shabu Seafood Brunch.

After which, we proceed to Korean Kimchi School to learn the Kimchi making which my mumsie enjoyed.

It's actually really easy to make and I swear I'm gonna try to make Kimchi Friedrice when I get back to Melbs.

HAHA it does look 'bloody' with the kimchi sauce but trust me, it taste so goood! I'm a huge kimchi fan....

We tried the different kinds of kimchi veg, I like the fried kimchi pancake best!

We also wore the tranditional Korea Clothing for picture-taking :)

And since it was winter, the sun usually sets around 5pm just like melbs winter, so I managed to capture the last sun-setting of 2011 in Incheon, hehe!

That night, we headed to Myeong-dong for more shopping, this is like the Orchard Road of Incheon I supposed. Since it was the 2012 countdown night, the whole street was mad crowded and difficult for us to squeeze through as well!

That night we had a Korean meat BBQ sesh as well in the city.

That basically summed up my last night of 2011 well-spent with my mum and sister!

Anyway, here are pictures on my last day spent in Korea before a night flight to Shanghai where I spent 2 days 1 night there.

It snowed the day we touched down Korea and the day we left :)

This was taken right after morning brekkie on the last day!

Then we made our way to the Skin Anniversary Beauty Town where we spent a few hours there experiencing the skin care treatment facial, skill of make-up, etc.

Wall of Fame, celebrities from Korea and worldwide who visited this monstrous beauty complex.

Then after the facial and makeup tutorial, we headed to the basement which was a 3D Art Gallery to take our self portraits :)

An add-on to our tour was a visit to the Hallyu Bear Gallery which was located inside this beauty complex.

Lacy Sunday

Okay so I do have 2ish more weeks left on this sunny island before I jetplane back to Melbs. My almost-3 months in Sinngers was a good summer break and just what I needed before gearing up for my final semester in uni. This is not a farewell post for melbs, just wanna share some snippets over a family gathering at my gran with aunt jane and jim & cny celebrations w a couple of friends since my family is no biggie in celebrating when it comes to cny festive season.

Smile like you mean it

Halos Blogopeeps! Here are some random snippets of my February month so far, its not in any particular order:

Had a cny celebration at a friend's place where we gambled a little and I count myself really lucky this year, I won quite a fair bit of like $100 bucks in total. I know it's not alot haha but its because I always bet small from $2-$10, nothing more than that.

Also, most of the time when I'm in Melbs and visit Crown the casino with my friends, I don't gamble as well, haha the only thing I do is to provide some lady luck. But hey, its the dragon year so a friendly gamble wouldnt do harm to my pocket. teehe.

This was also the first time applying make-up after a week's post-lasik when I was getting ready to go for Jiunlove's birthday gathering. I'll upload her bday celebrations pics real soon!

I had mad cravings for Xiao long baos for like a weeeek and really had to satisfy myself one evening at dtf! haha

Sometimes, I indulge in my confort food- Ice cream as well. This was at Kallang Leisure Park where I was helping a friend out with his uni's econimics exam prep. He got me this really yums yums cup of S'mores ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery. They were so generous with the portion as well, I only ordered a Small Size Cup and this was what I've got...

Post-Lasik

Harrows peeps! Happy Dragon Year, hope everyone is making lotsa money gambling this 'looong' year and eating lotsa bakwa and pineapple tarts because I know I did. My eyes are going so well in the day but at night, my vision tend to be a bit blurry. In fact, I got a bit worried the past few days thinking whether I'd ever recover from this temporary unclear vision thingy going on for me at night. Also I'm running out of those preservative-free eyedrops at home, gonna make a trip down to Paragon tml at least. My second review would be on thursday but I sincerely doubt I can last thru 3 more days without eyedrops. Boo, I'm not complaining.... The ease of waking up and sleeping everyday without putting on or taking out my contact lenses is amazing. Welcome to the world of almost-perfect eyesight!

Flying Kisses to Everyone, I'll be back with a longer post when I'm truly inspired to!

On a separate note, I have exactly a month left in Singapore then I'd be back in melby.

Gotta make the most out of my remaining time left here!

Korea: Part 3

Secret Garden

Hello lovelies, blogging part 3 of Korea makes me wanna relieve all the winter moments I've spent during my 6 days there. We visited the YeoJu Premium Outlet where they carried plenty of brands, our hands were freezing becos it wasn't exactly a mall but streets of premium brands of shops cluttered together. The weather was bittersweet, so we had to snap pictures along the wayyy...

The next stop saw us at Lotte World theme park, they had an indoor and outdoor section to it. Indoor was filled with mainly kids rides and it was sardine-packed because it was the start of the school holidays for the korean kiddos.

Sissy and I bought those cutesy cat ears that most k-teens were spotted wearing as well in Lotte World :)

Then we were caught in a massive human traffic jam due to the parade they had going on indoors....

one of the performers randomly pulled me on the streets and started doing hoop dancing! haha it was a fun one :)

we were very very lost indoors, wanted to sit the rides but the queue were tremendously loooong so we manage to find our way outdoors....

This was one crazy ride where they bring u all the way to the top of the tower and drop u sky high down.

Somehow my fearless sissy convinced me to sit a roller coaster ride with her. SHE WAS MAD, we queued 2 hours in the cold just for that one ride which lasted like 2 mins? And did I mentioned that it was the longest 2mins ride of my life ever! My heart dropped all the way to my stomach and it was caught in knots the WHOLE TIME. lol nonetheless, it was an experience worth remembering.

Late evening, we headed to the Ice Gallery for some Ice sculpturing and viewing of the gallery...

muahahaha, and I won 3rd place for it!

A message board situated outside the gallery for us to leave sticky-notes on! Spotted plenty of messages from spore tourists!

That night, we went to Itaewon for some Ginseng Chicken Soup. I reeeealllly love all the soupy dishes I had there during winter. Along the way, I manage to snap more city shots, the festive lights were beautiful!

Lotte Hotel below, it seems likee Lotte is one massively huge chaebol in Korea, they owned a hotel, themepark, a 10 storey shopping mall, what else? gosh!

We did some midnight shopping at Dongdaemun and then headed to our hotel in the city to call it a night!

Best thing that happened to me in 2012 so far...

Hello lovelies! Firstly happy lunar new year to everyone :) may this new dragon year bring in lotsa good luck and happiness for you and your loved ones!

Well the main reason I'm writing this post is because, I'm so glad my LASIK surgery last week was successful! For those of you who doesn't know that I'm short-sighted, well... I've been wearing contact lenses since the tender age of 12 years old! It's crazy how I've been so used to my contact lenses 24/7 (almost) due to my work obligations! I'm not complaining about my lenses but my eye degree was really high like 650-800, also my 2-weekly lenses are getting more expensive nowadays. So I figured that its high time I should do something about my froggie eyes and TADAH! I've not regretted a single day of my 'perfect' eye sight this past 7 days. It's wonderful to wake up on my bed and being able to see the clock at a glance. The only temporary side-effect so far would be the starbursts I experienced at night, I hope it goes away within the next one month tho!

Other than that, everything else with regards to my new vision is LOVELY and the world is a more wonderful place right now!

Just wanted to share this with everyone, knowing it could be apt in some point of our lives. I love how the lyrics are beautiful written with such deep meaning. My personal interpretation of this song is about a doomed relationship with someone that she is romantically interested in. They knew from the beginning that it couldn't last forever and an end is inevitable (You and I - we were born to die; Sometimes love is not enough). But she ignored that because she wants to be happy with him while she can.

In the first stanza, it shows that she's wavering and wants him dearly (Feet don't fail me now), and she hopes to God that she's made the right decision (But I'm hoping at the gates, they'll tell me you're mine). In the second stanza, it seems she's talking about what life is like after she's left him. She's lonely and wondering if she's made a mistake because everything is so unfamiliar without him (Can you make it feel like home if I tell you you're mine?).

The video above is the acoustic version of the song but if you've seen the official video, there are images that reference strangulation signifying that the relationship could be very unhealthy. The scene where she dies in a fiery car crash with them deliberating losing control while kissing in the car, could be a prediction of what would happen if they stayed together, consumed in their dangerous lust.

I know I haven't done a New Year's Resolution entry (while I was in Korea), but all i want to say is that 2012 is neither an end or beginning. I hope it has with all the wisdom and experience instilled in me and that somewhere this year i surprise myself. I hope 2012 sets as a turning point from this moment onwards, letting go and remembering to inhale love & exhale hate.

Confucius said life is indeed very simple but we insist on making it complicated. Life can be magnificent and overwhelming-- that is the whole tragedy because without beauty, love, or danger it would almost be easy to live. It is impossible to live without failing at something. unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case, you fail by default. So don’t be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble and fall, because most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you’ll get everything you wish for. Korea: Part 2

The road is long; We carry on

So part 2 of the trip saw us at Daegwallyeong Wind Village for goat feeding and cheese making. It was a great experience making cheese the korea way and then we enjoyed it with wine, jam and korean cracker.

I was wondering what were these colourful flowers and sunflower seeds for....

so we took the goat's milk and heated it up...

We had to follow closely to the instructions given by the korean cheese-making lady as well. I faintly remember she added something called GDL or GPL and water which made the milk cloudy and separated itself from the water. It was so much like a science experiment that we did in labs haha.

our table also added the lemon-flavouring which explained the creamy yellow colour of the milk curdling above. As for the picture below, my friend picked the strawberry-flavouring :)

so then, while the milk was curdling, we had to prepare a basket and lay the flowers.... these flowers are edible! U'll soon find out how the end-product looks like!

Then, after filling our tummies we headed out of the hut to feed the goats.

It was quite a painful sight to watch all the goats desperately fighting to get fed. As if they didnt get to eat for a thousand of years. I was chatting up with the tour guide and found out they were only fed like twice a day! I mean, not even thrice a day like us human beings. I feel for them in this cold brutal winter weather :(

In the mid-day, we headed to The Kensington Flora Hotel for Hot Springs and stayed there for a night.

Korean Hot-Spring was really.... an eye-opener. I mean I actually brought my bikinis over and stuff thinking I could enter the female hotspring being you know... semi-clothed. But, the min I entered the changing room, I saw women stripping down naked and well... it was a strange sight! haha I've never seen so many naked women of all ages, young n old like in front of me! Obviously it wasn't a feast watching them, it was rather awkard when they smiled at me nakedly. hahahaha and of course I had no choice but to strip and go with the k-flow. Beside the hot spring tubs were like mini "scrubbing" zones where grandmas, mothers, teens would scrub each other backs, thighs and private areas for dead skin. I felt itchy just looking at them. I brought my camera down but obviously I couldnt take any pictures. LOL!

that night, we had a mini-soju sesh in my room w mumsie and sissy. Sojus are so cheap there, like 2 bucks sgd?

SO I SPENT MY NEW YEAR IN.... KOREA!

Anyonghaseyooo people, I just got back from Korea/Shanghai not too long ago. Had an awfully amaaaazing time in Korea and I've tons of pictures to share with you guys so here it goes...

After touching down at Incheon International Airport in Seoul, we had a 3-hour mini toad trip to the Hanwah Phoenix Park Ski Resort where we stayed at for the first night and went skiing the VERY NEXT DAY.

The view from our resort's room, doesnt it look like some mountain portrait? pretty cool and it was a chilly minus 20 degree c that same night.

this was what i had for brekkie the very next morning, korean-style! I love their porridge with seaweed flakes and the little cold dishes they had.

I think this looked a little too spicy for the morning tummy....

Right after a hearty breakfast, we made our way to the Ski World which was a mere 5 mins drive from our resort and we had a blast sweating it out in the snow!

Sojus are really cheap in Korea, I think some soju bottles cost like 2 sgd!

Season of Love

What I simply adore about Christmas are the festive lights! Lighting up the world, making us remember of how we are suppose to make peace and love and not war. During the Christmas season we love to celebrate the “light” which ironically I think, compel us to remember the darkness as it is the darkness that makes light so bright. And good. Merry Christmas Pumpkin Loves!

On a complete different note, here is a new project that I'm really excited to share with all of you. Filming for it has wrapped up not too long ago, hosted a total of 20 episodes with my two lovely "cats" Yoyo and Yaya.

Basically, this new show is called MAT YOYO and i got this off a mediacorp site for detailed info on the show if most of you are wondering how the name "mat yoyo" orginated from :

Luka Peng's Studio in Melby for the Loreal Professional Summer Collection Competition

Spent a day at his salon in Caulfield, Melbourne for the day shoot.

wonder why i look so white in the picture below... hmm. too pale, whatyathink? >.<

I love the foils and the dye colour he specially mixed for this outcome. Its so niceee!

Also, I have been back in SINGAPORE for a week already, for the record nothin has changed after being away for almost 1 year in melby. The humid weather, the local delights, the air that simply sucks me in every morning, leaving me pretty deadpan towards early noon. everything is such a rush back here, why can't things slow down and get a little sweeter. aye.

So anyway, the day after I touched down was bruno's birthday and it was also back to the studios/work for me!!

Lovely saturday peoplee!!

Weather is great at 17 degrees today, what a springy day, even the clouds are smiling at me :)

So anyway, I've downloaded this amazing poladroid app on my 4 year old macbook which is pretty cool, it has an icon on my wallpaper thats twice the size of normal icons and all I have to go is to drag my pictures from my picture files and drop it in my "polaroid camera", and basically wait for the picture to appear in its polaroid form and I can choose to shake it like a polaroid picture to make the greys fade and the colours to appear at its fastest speed. pretty cooool heh!

From my mini road trip during mid sem break 2 weeks ago....

Hot spring at Mornington Peninsula was steamy and awesome for the chilly weather. We went at night but what a pity, it was crowded due to the school holidays in melb plus they close at 9.30pm, pretty early... we got out of the tub like after 45 mins.

I'm pretty sure its artificial hot springs, but its pretty fun for the cold weather. I could dip myself in different tubs with different temps.... the hottest was like 40 degrees only. I was inside for like 10 mins and haha such a loser I felt difficulties breathing! LOL :) I'd stick to 35 to 38 degrees max!

The following day, saw me at Phillip Island, its an tourist attraction at Melbourne, its out of the city like a 2 hours drive. I visited that same place for the 3rd time, but I can never get sick of it :) Went to Churchhill island on it to see the wildlife and koalas, visited the chocolate factory along the way and saw the little wobbly penguins for the 2nd time. my 2nd experience with the penguins was pretty disappointing, we were expecting like 50 or more of them to wobble out from the oceean (based on current stats estimated everyday and displayed at the counter) but we only saw like 20 or less?! Couldn't snap a shot because flashlights/ cams/ phones were prohibited.

Hello lovelies!

My first 2 days of the mid sem break has been going well! Hot Spring at Mornington, Church Hill Island with animals and lotzzz more, plus not forgetting to mention the lovely accompany I had with! Will update this space pretty soon in the next few days with a more detailed post after i figure out how to make the resolution of my camera pictures sharper after transfering it to my mac. The image size on my cam is already an L (3648 x 2736) but I dont know why it still appears to be pretty small on my mac and worst still, blur when I enlarge it. Any kind technologeek peeps out now to advise me??? argh! SOS!!!

Hello bloggosphere! Call me slow but I totally dig the new blogger post creation layout, made this discovery today that I can enlarge photos to x-large sizes, loving it so far. This will probably itch me to blog more, plus the fact that I've just gotten a new camera, yippee yays to me! :)

So anyway uni is going well so far and this week is my mid semester break (funny how my uni's mid sem break is in week 9 yikes). However, I dont really have any hard party plans up my sleeves, I'm really exhausted from the past 8 weeks in uni with all the assignments and tests I had. So I guess Im just gonna relax this week, go to work, do some readings on uni stuff and chill with friends. Here are some snippets from the past few weeks... taken with my blackberry :)

Hello Earthlings! Time flew by in such a rush, I vividly remember bidding Pow goodbye at the melbourne airport a month ago and this time round, it was Michiru's farewell already :( So the group of us had a nightout at Bass with her n her boyfriend kenny who flew down from Singapore for holiday.

My dearest friend Desmond was in Melbourne for half a night for his flight duty,
so me, deb and desmond hit a korean restaurant for some yummy dinner!

Had a good dinner with yummy cheesy korean chilli chicken, pork stew and Yakult sojus with my friends! It was amusing to hear some flight stories from Desmond and how he engaged a private korean tutor so as to pick up basic korean for his backpacking trip to Korea in August!

After the satisfying dinner, the 3 of us took a walk back to melb central and there was this group of people who walked passed us and shouted "I love you kim wakerman" and started doing star jumps. I was abit shocked but it was so darn sweet and I could tell by then that they were Singaporeans too. Desmond n deb were startled and amused by how they still do recognized me, hahahaha and I started to feel really so nostalgic over my filming days and roadshows. Those were the fondest memories ever!

Soon after, deb left for her cell group and desmond n I had waffles and hot chocolate at Max B.
Once again, thanks for helping me buy the bb cream silly boy and also please please please visit me again in melb! swap shifts with someone at work hehe! hope to see u real soon desmonddyy!

Hellooooo schubbly world, so I had my short lil hiatus from cyberworld for a while due to exams and a few social activities. But I'm back and here I am with a farewell post to Zac Pow. He left melbourne for good last week with the completion of his degree course over here. I'm glad he and jiun could finally reunite in Singaland. As for tiny me in this biggg world, here I am... hoping this monday's exams results would put my nervous-wreck butt to ease and if everything goes well, I'd be in year 3 this coming semester. Time really flies, I've already spent 1.5 years in Melbourne but it doesn't even feel like it. Time, please slow down will ya? :)

Little Wonders in a Big Way

Before I get my bumbum to uni to study, I had a wonderful morning/noon at my first attempt at fish noodle soup! haha its so easy and simple, thanks to nono's recipe. I didnt know how easy to make this until I tried today, and it taste soooo yummy! gonna drink finish the whole bowl of my ikan bilis soup and eat all the fish slices :)

Falling Down

I'm nervous, I'm sooo nervous tonight! Just got back from building TTT (been a complete dork at my uni's 24 hours access building during the past 1.5 yrs), yea u can call me a faithful resident of TTT. Exams are on this wed, I have this strange flush of hot/panic yet cold/calm feeling during the past few days. I can't sleep yet I know I'm tired... i think i over-worked my mind. Hope I'm not falling sick or anything as such, been having the sore throat and sniffles! It's terrible, but fish congee today made me feel alot better. I hate to snap and get so flustered while doing investment portfolio revision, damn. I dont mean it :(

Anyways, got back from a chilled 7 degrees night and found some lovely flowers on my heater top shelf! what a lovely surprise from Lan (my housemate!) and it immediately cheered up my night! Thank You Lan, if u're reading this space! :)

Couldn't really travel to anywhere for hot spring or go on road trips becos I was tied down with one major investment portfolio assignment. yea, tell me about it! over 10 days, I was doing my assignment bit by bit, finally it has ended! Happy Easter Lovelies!!

I'm currently having my easter break holidays now and since its a wednesday, I'm mid-way through this 10 days vacation break. Argh, speaking of holidays, this isnt even a proper holiday please! I've one major investment portfolio assignment and a commbank test due next week. So much for letting my hair down and painting the town red. I'm more like spending my days working hard.

Anyway here are some amazing pictures for the month of April, I like this monthly recap notion. Its like a mini summary of what happened in April :) so here we go!

Late march at Yixiang's house for bbq in Geelong:

it was so awesome, we had this mini campfire thing and sat at his back yard, I've more photos of it but I'll post it up next time... moving on....

Trip to Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula:

Bruno and I went down with his boss and friend for some wine tasting and strawberry picking. Pity it wasn't in season for strawberry picking so we sat at the strawberry cafe for desert instead. 3rd time to Mornington but I'll never get sick of it :) always loving road trips....

Desmond and Brighton:
my dearest SIA steward friend Des was down in Melbourne for a day or two so we met up for yummy ramen and then I was off to Brighton Beach. It was my first trip there and boy was it so oooawesome! The sunkist wind in my hair, the wonderful hut houses and I saw 3 wedding couples there :)

April was fantastic, now that early winter is approaching,
I hope I can brave through exams with the dull cold studying nights with
the company of my lovely friends :)

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,

It's cloud illusions i recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moons and junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real; i've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show. you leave 'em laughing when you go

Tears and fears and feeling proud to say "i love you" right out loud,
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds, i've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they say
I've changed.
Something's lost but something's gained in living every day.
